Goddess of Fertility Day is today, March 18th.  It celebrates Aphrodite and other gods and goddesses of fertility. In ancient times, many cultures had multiple gods and goddesses. Each one represented various aspects of life. The ancient Greek goddess Aphrodite was by far the most well known goddess of fertility. People would pray and make offerings to Aphrodite when seeking to create a family.

If you are looking to procreate, today might be the perfect time. However, if you are looking to avoid the unexpected pitter-patter of little feet, one might suggest today is a day of abstinence.

One could use this moment to declare everybody worship me....
Buuut... Perhaps today would be better spent not doing that because I'm not actually a Goddess. But feel free to worship Freyja, Frigg or Freyr.

Since pt isnt around today i am filling in for her.  Did you all know that today is Poultry Day!!!! It is and today celebrates chicken, turkey and other birds we commonly consume. Chicken and turkey are lower in fats, and cholesterol than other meats, making it better for your health. They also give you your breakfast eggs.

Celebrate Poultry Day with eggs for breakfast, a chicken sandwich for lunch, and barbecue chicken for dinner. Don't forget to cook up some chicken fingers for the kids.

Most famous Chicken: Looney Tune's Foghorn leghorn.

Chicken Philosophy: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

March 20th is . . .Extraterrestrial Abductions Day. Keep one eye on the sky. And, be ready to duck, dodge, and to hide. UFO's may be everywhere, looking to abduct humans. If you are not careful, perhaps they will find you! Of course, there are more than a few people out there who are looking to be abducted by aliens, so they can travel to another planet.  And, some of us are even turned on by the idea of being abducted and used for sexual purposes!  So, Be careful!  And enjoy your Friday!

Don't put up a stink about today. Today, March 21st, is Fragrance Day. It is a great smelling day. The olfactory nerves in your nose, will enjoy this special day. Ladies in particular, will enjoy today because they just love perfumes. And guys, you've gotta admit that your gal's perfume attracts you to her.

Everyone has a favorite fragrance . . .

Now here's a day that just about everybody can relax and enjoy. It's a day to do anything and everything.....except what you're supposed to do today.  Today, March 22nd, is National Goof Off Day!

Assuming you won't get in trouble at work or school, go ahead and play some golf, or play games all day. Spend extra time surfing the net. Go out and spend the day window shopping with your favorite friend. Or, just read sit down and read a book or watch Tv. This day is set aside for you to do anything you enjoy doing.

A few years ago, a survey was performed to identify the most popular activity for goofing off. The top activity was playing video games. Who conducted the survey? Ninetendo.......no surprise. It kinda makes you wonder just who might have had the brainstorm to create this day......hmmmm. Nowadays, the most popular Goof Off Day activity is likely playing games on the internet, or on our Smart Phones.

Near Miss Day commemorates the day that an asteroid missed hitting the earth on March 23rd, 1989. It missed the earth by 500,000 miles, and had it hit, it would have left a crater the size of the District of Columbia, devastated everything within 100 miles of it, and the strength would have been like being hit with 40,000 hydrogen bombs. It is said that every major extinction in the history of the earth coincided with an asteroid collision.  So get out and celebrate Near Miss Day . . .

Almost all major extinctions were probably caused by asteroids.

Many argue we are in the midst of a major extinction right now, caused by us humans and the way we are treating the habitats of the life we share this planet with.

Nice try Dark but today is National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day is a day to enjoy this tasty combination of chocolate and fruit. Chocolate lovers who like raisins, find the combination simply irresistible. Kids find them irresistible, too.

Are you watching your waistline? National Chocolate Raisin Day will not help you here. You're on your own.

Follow the Logic?: Chocolate is made from cocoa beans ( a vegetable) and raisins are from grapes (a fruit). And, we all know that vegetables and fruit are good for you. Therefore, isn't chocolate covered raisins good for you?
