It's all because of a play on words!

Star Wars Day is May the Fourth, because of a famous quote from the hugely popular science fiction series blockbuster is "May the Force (Fourth) be with you"

Great ways to Celebrate Star Wars Day:

Watch any of the great Star Wars movies
Better still, have a Star Wars marathon, and watch two or three (or 4) of them.
Get out your laser sword and practice for the next invasion from the Evil Empire.
Send a Star Wars day Ecard- of course they have them!
Have a Star Wars costume party.
Learn some Star Wars Trivia, there's no shortage.
Some call this Day "Luke Skywalker Day".

National Hoagie Day is today!  It was created to give us a special day to enjoy and celebrate a big, tasty hoagie. You know of this big sandwich as a hoagie, a sub or a hero. And, it's a regular on most diets in America. People eat them for lunch, dinner, and even as a late night snack. It's a quick meal or people on the go.

The popularity of the Hoagie sub is partly due to the diversity and variety of its contents. It can be hot or cold, luncheon meat or meatballs, and will contain o cheese, or any of a variety of cheeses. Then, the fun begins as you pile on any number and combinations of extras.

Celebrate National Hoagie Day by eating a Hoagie for at least one meal or a snack. Make or buy your favorite hoagie. Or, be adventurous and try a new combination.

I need to find a place that makes a good hoagie.

Is it bad when they ask me if I want mayo or vinegar and oil, I say both?

What's the difference between a hoagie and an Italian sub....I mean other than the deli products should come from Italy in the later?

Today is a sad day indeed . . .Lost Sock Memorial Day.  A day to recognize your drawer full of unmatched socks. Each unmatched sock represents a missing sock. We never throw away our unmatched socks. After all, it may show up someday.

On Lost Sock Memorial Day, we suggest you spend a little time (as little as possible) searching for those missing socks.  After a (very) brief search, and in good "Memorial" spirit, spend a minute reflecting upon how warm and comforting the missing socks were on your stinky toes. Then, by all means, get on with your life.

We encourage you to use this special day, to toss out all of your unmatched socks. Let's face it, you're never gonna find the missing one.

Happy Frog Jumping Day!  Frog Jumping Day is a great day to jump like a frog. Or, is today intended to jump "over" a frog? Either way, today is a fun day. But, is this truly the reason for this day?  Read on.........

The roots of Frog Jumping Day go back to Mark Twain's first short story. It was first published in 1865 as "Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog". Later, he published it as "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County". It is also known under a third title "The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County".

While we have discovered many links and references to Frog Jumping Day evolving from this Mark Twain short story, we have yet to discover the reason for this particular date. May 13th is neither the date of Mark Twain's birth , nor his death.

National Chocolate Chip Day celebrates and enjoys sweet, tasty chocolate chips. Chocolate chips are a great invention, and certainly deserve a little recognition. After all, where would chocolate chip cookies, cakes and muffins be without the chocolate chip!?

Chocolate chips are popular in cooking and baking, for a wide variety of breads, cakes, and cookies. There is an almost endless number of recipes. They are also used in decorating. Have you ever had chocolate chip pancakes? How about chocolate chips in trail mix? If you've never had these, then you're leading a sheltered life.

Rare is the leftover chocolate chip. If you don't use the whole bag, you and/or your kids will likely eat them as a snack before they make it to the storage container.

There are many recipes for having a successful National Chocolate Chip Day. And, every one of them includes chocolate chips.

National Sea Monkey Day celebrates an amazing pet that comes alive when placed in water. Children and adults are fascinated by these creatures, that almost instantly are born when place in water.

Celebrate this day by spending some time with your Sea Monkeys. Watch them swim and play. Give them an extra treat. If you do not have sea monkeys, today is the day to go out and buy a kit.

Hug Day encourages us to give hugs to those who need them. On this day, people go out and give hugs at senior citizen centers, hospitals, and other places. The focus is upon elderly, sick and invalid, lonely people and anyone who needs the warmth, cheer, and love that a hug provides.

This very special day was created by the "Hugs for Health Foundation". According to the Foundation:

" Hug Day is founded on the premise that hugs, friendship and volunteer support are vital components to the overall senior care plan."

So, Happy Hug Day you all!

Today is Compliment Your Mirror Day.

Now, here is what you need to do . . .

Stand in front of your mirror with your eyes closed. Put a big smile on your face . . . a BIG smile. Now, open your eyes. Isn't the picture of the person in your mirror absolutely stunning!? That person in your mirror is beautiful (or handsome).

Do not let this special holiday be overshadowed by the 4th of July. Make sure to compliment your mirror for displaying this beautiful person.
