Of course there are bad cops . . .but there are good ones too!  How come the good things cops do never seem to make the news?

Sweet Plaything,

Because Society as a whole usually tends to believe the worst in all of us. If it isn't sensationalized, or scandalous, it doesn't sell....

It must be really hard for people like yourself Tony and for PT as well, married to a law enforcement officer, to read about stuff like this, knowing it tarnishes all law enforcement with the same brush.

All it takes is one to ruin things for everyone else. It's not the first time this sort of thing has happened and it certainly won't be the last time but people need to remember not to judge a group by an individual.

Yes, I agree . . .it only takes one to make them all look bad.  I also agree that there are some bad cops out there, and they don't need to be on the streets, but I can easily see how they could become jaded and uncaring . . .I could never do what my Deputy does every day, I think he is just way more compassionate and caring than I am when it comes to some of the people he deals with.

Some of that has to do with you.  You make him a better person, because of how happy he is with you.

I wish I could take credit for that . . .but he was a great cop before he got me . . .as a matter of fact, that's how he got me . . .because he was a great cop and cared enough to save me!

Nope.  While I'm absolutely sure he was a great cop before, I do know people say his mood and temperament has been better since he has been with you.  That better view of the world and his happiness must have made him just a little more caring in his job.

And you cannot use his saving of you as the reason he was a good cop 'before'.  He took one look at you and melted and became a better person while saving you.

Cops are just like the rest of us . . .human!  We all make mistakes, it's sad that the only time the news reports on anything is when it's negative, but that's the world we live in.  But, when things get really fucked up . . .a cop will be there to take care of it . . .just depends on which side you are as to whether you will be happy with the results!
