I took note of this story because I have become an avid fan of HBO's Westworld Series.

Ms. Wood is being praised for speaking out and continuing to lift the stigma surrounding the victims of rape most notable is "they brought it on themselves" or "it's no big deal". She wrote a letter regarding her story that was partially published in Rolling Stone Magazine. She then posted a link to the full letter on her Twitter account. She indicated that coming forth with her story was partially due to the results of the presidential election and the potentially catastrophic fallout that could come from the President-Elect's comments and views regarding women and the Vice President-Elect's fanatical vow to reverse reproductive rights and options for women.

I applaud her. As a fan of the Westworld series, I wonder how she deals with the scenes in the cable series that depict and allude to the idea of the character she plays being repeatedly raped.

It very likely is completely unrelated but Evan Rachel Wwod was in a relationship with Edward Norton when she was a teen and I think met him when she was in the movie "Down In The Valley" in 2004,  she was born September 7 1987, Edward was born August 18, 1969.

She later dated Marilyn Manson, born January 5, 1969.  She dated him in 2006.

Both much older men while she was a teen.

I saw 'Down in the Valley' and a few other movies she was in such as 'Running With Scissors'.  I think I noted her more for she being attractive than for enjoying the movies though.  I believe she was 18 when she made 'Down in the Valley'.

I remember many years ago another actress Kelly McGillis (think Top Gun with Tom Cruise) also going public with a past rape.  When you're a celebrity and even when you're not, it's courageous to go public with a story of rape.

I agree it takes courage to open up and put yourself out there for others.

I just remembered the actress I would often confuse with Evan Rachel Wood, just by name and not necessarily looks.

Rachael Leigh Cook

I saw Rachael Leigh Cook in a strange movie called The Big Empty.  There's a scene where she's stripping and going to sleep with the main character that would make me watch that movie again.  I think she was 23-24 when she made the movie, but was playing a teenager.
