Gotta say, I saw the first trailer for the new Star Wars movie, and I am pumped! I don't think I've been this excited since the spring of 1980, when I saw a trailer for The Empire Strikes Back for the first time.

It wasn't very long and didn't really show too many exciting scenes. A Sith wielding a gnarly-looking new style of light sabre, X-wings screaming across a snowy plain, and the Millennium Falcon evading TIE fighters in a bright blue sky, to name a few. Oh, and a young girl riding some kind of cool landspeeder on Tatooine,(who I'm assuming is likely Han and Leia's daughter, Jaina) but it got my appetite whetted for more. And unlike the prequel movies, I'm actually looking forward to this one! Dec. 2015 will not come soon enough! I'm a kid again! Hehe!

I heard about it today but didn't watch yet.  Yeah, I'd like to see this too.

I'm also hoping for Avatar 2 real soon.

Saw the trailer just now and for a teaser trailer it was pretty good. What's really surprised me is people's reaction to a black actor being at the start of the trailer. Apparently there's some outcry about it from some star wars fans. It's really sad in this day and age that people have an issue with skin colour, even in movies.

We really haven't progressed that much. I pity us as a species sometimes, I really do.

Both my Sons and I have circled December of 2015!!

Of course they have already circled December 17th for "the Battle of the Five Armies"......

Having seen All the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movies, I can't wait!!

Also, to further my Geekdom, I was the open class Lightsaber Dueling Champion at the first two Star Wars conventions in Orlando in the Late 70's.....

That's awesome Tony! I gotta admit, a while ago on an online discussion about the new SW movie, I sort of badmouthed the producers for still keeping the X-wing fighters and the Millennium Falcon around. My rationale was that, hey it's supposed to be 20 or so years after the Battle of Endor, let's move on! Surely the Falcon would have lived out its usefulness by now and the same with the X-wings. But now, seeing that trailer and the scenes with the X-wings roaring across an icy plain and the Millennium Falcon once again dueling with TIE fighters, well, it sent shivers up my spine! I have decided now....how could they NOT make a new Star Wars movie without them?

The Millennium Falcon and TIE fighters are as iconic as Darth Vader's Black mask and Yoda's fuzzy ears. The franchise couldn't exist without them......

Right up there with the new James Bond and Avengers 2, these are the big 3 I am personally looking forward to the most. Taken 3...not so much.

Yeah, taken 2 was disappointing, especially compared to the 1st movie. Best part was the actress who plays his daughter as she is smoking hot, lol  ;D

If it's the "Perfect Guy" I'm thinking of, it's a piece of teen fluff, Disney is putting out. Kind of a modern day twist on the old '80s movie "Weird Science", with Kelly LeBrock. Instead of two boys creating a hot woman, it's two teen girls creating, well, "the perfect guy".
